Blowtorch Paintings

I start by lighting a flame. The canvas is a white melamine countertop. I apply concentrated or gentle heat with a flame torch to achieve the desired amount of "brush" coverage. When you get very close and apply a lot of heat you get these crazy pops as the moisture in the surface vaporizes and needs to release blowing a hole in the countertop and adding a brilliant texture.

I am going to put some videos of the process up soon.
